Help Marlborough celebrate our legacy of agricultural excellence with the Apple Parade, a public art installation on display throughout our town from blossom to harvest time.
Marlborough Arts Coalition (MaArCo) artists will create and install multiple apple sculptures, each irregular but measuring approximately 2 x 2 feet, in prominent locations throughout Milton and Marlboro, with a map available at the debut event. Each of approximately 15 apple sculptures will be painted or otherwise embellished by a different local artist. The apples will debut at an Arbor Day Event on April 26 at Sands Avenue Park, with continuing rollout through the spring. The sculptures will be auctioned at the Bounty Festival in October, with proceeds to benefit both local artists and our local food pantry.
Apples were chosen to represent the nature of the town as the source of our nourishment, both physical and spiritual, and as a product that we proudly export to others near and far. Locations for the apple sculptures will be accessible to all residents and visitors.
Donations of any amount are welcome! For donors at the Bronze, Silver, or Gold level, we can include your name, the name of your business, or the name of someone you wish to honor on the mounting of an Apple Sculpture.
